When the outer world is chaotic, it helps to have a contemplative practice and a creative outlet to keep our inner balance. In this retreat Jan will address each of the themes in her Book of Hours, Stop Seeking, Start Finding. These themes are Stillness, Awakening, Letting Go, Non-Duality, Conscious Creativity, Prophetic Action and Building Community—each a step on the journey from mystic to prophet. After reflecting on each and sharing ideas, we will start creating our own Book of Hours to flesh out and bring to life each of the concepts. Your Book of Hours may include visuals, quotations, photographs, original writing, drawings, metaphoric images, maps, musical scores, or whatever else you decide on.
Think of any images that represent the lessons you’ve learned on your spiritual path and bring them along.

Each day will include talks by Jan on the spiritual concepts, short videos, group reflections, time for rest, walks and working on your books.

Preparing for your Book of Hours Retreat
We invite you to start preparing for the retreat by becoming aware of writings, quotations, and images that are speaking to you in this moment. You might already have a place where you record words and phrases that are meaningful to you. Please bring these journals and resources with you to the retreat. We will have plenty of inspiration and images for you, but starting to pay attention to what you might like to add to your own Book of Hours will deepen your personal experience.

Your Creative Kit will contain

• A 5.5×8 inch 70 page art journal (A5 size) to house your Book of Hours
• Scissors, pencil and eraser
• Tabs for your book
• Glue Stick

We will be supplying magazines, but please bring additional ones if you have any.

Arriving at the Retreat Center

• Official check in time is between 2-5 pm on Monday, November 10 (Earlier accommodations can be arranged for those flying in, if necessary)
• Dinner is served from 5.30pm to 6.15pm
• Our first session will start after dinner at 7 pm
• Checkout is on Thursday, November 13 after our closing session.
• Guests of the retreat center are invited to remain on the property and enjoy the grounds, common areas, and gift/book store before check-in and after check-out.

COST
The cost of this four day, three night retreat which includes accommodation in a single room with en-suite bathroom, all meals, snacks and art supplies including your own personal art supply kit is $725 per person. If you prefer to room with a friend in a double room, contact Jan for arrangements, 858-229-0452

Payment is as follows:

• A non-refundable deposit of $125 is required to register for the retreat by August 20. This is the only way to hold a spot for you as we are limiting retreat to 15 persons. Register here.
• The balance of $600 is due by by September 15, 2025 as the Retreat Center requires confirmation and payment for accommodation two months ahead of the retreat start date.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Should it be necessary for you to cancel your participation in this retreat you will be refunded the retreat costs less the non-refundable deposit and any accommodation fees already due and paid to the retreat center, provided your cancellation is made on or before November 1, 2025. You are also welcome to find someone to take your place in the retreat.
Should Jan need to cancel this retreat for any reason, you will be refunded all amounts paid to her for this retreat.
